The MTT (Minnesota Tournament Trail) would like to thank everyone who stepped in and helped out on Saturday.
A major storm, with high winds,lightning and heavy rain blew in quickly during tournament hours, catching most teams on the water.
As the teams came off the water, they came to see if teams fishing by them were in and accounted for. Many teams also came to see how they could help us with the weigh-in site, as it was all set-up already.
Thanks to all, we couldn't have saved it without you!
Also, thanks to Pat and Rhonda Rooney, owners of Denny's Resort for all their help in the adverse conditions. And for all the help the rest of the weekend!
We would also like to let all who fished the tournament know of a wonderful thing the first place team on Sunday did.
We had a special "Big Fish" pot, put on by BWAC (Big Winnie Area Coalition). Any team that became members, part of the membership went into a Big Fish pot, for members only.
The team that finished first on Sunday, Troy Kalis and Steven Monda, also had the big fish of the day. They were also members of BWAC, so they won the Big Fish pot. Before leaving for home, they gave the money back to BWAC. They said they wanted to see the money put back into the lake.
We would like to thank Troy and Steven for their generousity. The Big Winnie fishery will be a better place because of their contribution.
THANKS TROY AND STEVEN!
One last round of thanks goes to the owners of the "Goodie Shack".
The "Goodie Shack" was on sight doing food all weekend. On Sunday they had a fish fry for all the tournament participants, at no charge.
We put out a contribution can and gave that to them for all the hard work on the fish fry. They in turn took that money and turned around and contributed it to the childrens organization of their choice.
Thank you for being so kind hearted toward those less fortunate than us!
We had a great weekend considering what Mother Nature threw at us.
Thanks to all, you are great anglers to work with and for.
