Anything green, then blue, then orange, and then anything else that
works for kings.Anything that flashes for steelhead.I like silver streak metalic easter egg the best.In Ludington you had to use a
thing called Fish Catcher or you didn't catch anything. If you are
starting out I would advise you to get some of Capt. Chip Porter
tapes and learn from them then ask the locals what they are using.I
found out one thing if you use downriggers get something to tell your ball speed and you'll start catching more.Good luck fishing.

when the kings and steelhead come in close to run upriver it is a total riot to get a nice casting reel like the ambassadore 6500...not the 5500 and spool it with 10 lb line...you can get 325 yds on the 6500 reel and you will need that much line...and cast in the mouth area...i fish the burns ditch area and that is very close to mich city and worth the 20 mile drive...i take my little boat ant anchor right next to the wall at the entrance to the lake...on calm days...and cast rapalas...j-13...silver and black and fire tigers...one guy caught 27 kings two yrs ago casting towards the rocks....i couldn't believe it...i had been doing fair with the silver/black...had 3-5 fish and he was not doing well...asked me what i was using...he had the firetiger and put it on and just kept catching huge fish casting towards the rocks...his buddy did not get one fish i think...they only had the one j-13...i went and bought 3-4 firetigers that day...the next wk the guy was back and only caught one fish...go figure..it was fun watching this guy catch/release all day long...you can't get these lures once the bite is on...so stock up now...steve

Hi,
when the Salmon are coming in the Rivers in Mi. I anchor at the mouths and fish after dark using Bomber 15a's Glow in the dark.Glow Spoons also work. The trick is to work them as SLOW as you can.

Hi,
I didn't mention that I use Garcia 300 reels with 20 lb test Power Pro line with a 8'6 Southbend Trophy Rod.The 300 has a low gear ratio.
