i had somebody tell me that trolling husky jerks work good for walleyes is that true or are they just bass fishers

Those work great for walleye, however jerkbaits shine when cast, since you can pause the retrieve and have the Husky Jerks suspend. I typically troll with the floating Rapala. There are a lot of other productive stickbaits used for walleye fishing too, including Thundersticks (reg & deep), Shad Raps, Reef Runners, Super Rogues, Hot-N-Tots, Rattle Tots, RistoRaps...
