Looking at putting on a Kicker motor lift my self. Any advise on what is better, Panter, Min Kota or Cabelas? Any hints on install? Thanks for your help!

My MinnKota works great. Easy to install and is a bit faster than the Panther lift when compared to my buddy's. This is the first time I have had one and don't know why I never did before. They are great!

Johnnie's right the Minn Kota lift is faster. I've installed two Min Kota's and two Panther Lifts. I have no experience with the CMC. The lifts are easy to install- use engine bolts with locking nuts wherever possible. A lag screw is your last resort.
Both lifts are very rugged and have few problems. One advantage the Panther lift has is its usually serviceable in place and doesn't have to be removed from the boat. The lifting screw and the electric motor are easy to replace. If a Minn Kota goes down you are most likely going to have to send it in. For that reason I prefer the Panther Lift. I have a kicker, and do the bracket & strap thing. Getting sick of it. Just what is the advantage of a "lift"? I've never seen one work, etc. Thanks in advance!

I have a Minn Kota Lift On my Ranger 690VS. I have owned the lift for 5 years with no problems. It is a tough unit I fished mostly on Big Sak in North Dakota, the true test. I have it rigged so you can trim the motor from the kicker control power trim button. You do not have to leave your set to trim the motor, very slick. I think Minn Kota got it right the first time with this power trim bracket, a first for everything.

Just had a Mercury Lift installed on my Pro V 1900, really works great. I don't know the cost of the other units but my Mercury was around $400.00 installed, you run it from your seat with the up-down switch built into your throttle, shift lever. It is a very good investment. Good Fishing. Wallygetter

Any more ideas or help? My wife has a birthday on July 23, and I know that she would love to have a new kicker lift, so I need to pick one out! (jk)

Different Steve (see his response about the wife!) But I think I have finally made my mind up and am going to go with a Panther lift and definitely before St Catherines. I finally saw one on a bigger boat in Lorain that had also has the EZ Steer connected to an IO outdrive. He didn't require the additional setback plate either. I'm going to take a close up look at it this weekend and then get one ordered.
