Mine gets just under 18mpg under normal driving conditions. I get just under 16mpg when pulling my Lund around. This assumes the custom travel cover is on. Without the cover, the mileage drops to about 12.5 mpg.

I've got a 2000 Ford Excursion with 52,000 miles on it. I recently re-programed it with the "Superchip". Prior to re-programming I was getting 19 MPG on the highway (averaging about 5 MPH over the speed limit) and 15.5 MPG for combination highway and around town. Towing on the highway (20' Pro Elite with a 225 - doing the speed limit) I was getting about 13 MPG.
With the "Superchip" there are two re-programming settings. The first adds about 50 HP and improves fuel economy while the second (I think that it is called the "off road program") adds considerably more HP but at the expense of fuel economy. I used the first setting and noticed the increased HP. Fuel economy under the same conditions as above improved considerably to 21.5 MPG highway, 17.5 MPH combination highway and around town, and 15.5 MPG towing.
I only notice the extra power if I really step on it. The only negative that I have found so far is that the shift points seem a little firmer.
I've talked to the Ford dealer about it and they actually sell them at my dealership. The re-programming does not effect the warranty on the engine. The reason that they don't re-program them at the factory is that a re-programmed vehicle will not meet California emission standards. It will, however, meet the standards of all other states.
I love my Excursion. It's the perfect rig for me. People like to give me a hard time about how "big" it is until I point out to them that it is the exact same length and width as a standard cab, full box 3/4 ton pick-up.
