Heading for Mitchell Co. to catch some migrating ducks. Have seen it when it was just fantastic with the sky filled with ducks. Made the mistake of not paying attention to a warming trend a couple of years ago and the birds, several thousand, just set on the water all day long. Heard that pheasant numbers were down some with a wet nesting season.

First night I field hunted, I had 3 to 4 hundred ducks trying to land on me. Got my gun tangled in my layout blind. Next group, gun was not loaded. Next group, I whiffed three times. What a start. Thankfully things got better, much better and my lab got a good workout. Only hunted three days. Could not pheasant hunt much as my ankle was on the blink. Got out of the plains before the snow storm hit.
