Still looking for a quality sonar for walleye. Trying to decide if it should be Pinpoint, Garmin 240, Lowrance 91??? Any ideas? Looking for the best in quality as far as being able to see 'Eyes' hanging close to the bottom.

Take a look at Bottomline. I have two Tournamentmaster HR`s on My boat & would be lost without them! The large screen coupled with all the features makes this a topnotch outfit. You`ll like the Revalation feature, those "bottom huggers" can`t hide! Also, the Sidefinder is invaluable searching for those suspended Eye`s here on Saginaw Bay. With the two Bottomlines I also use a Garmin 162 GPS. Hope this helps, Good luck & Good fishing!Bob.

For the price, the Garmin 240 is superb. Especially if your picking up a Garmin 240 RED.

$280 U.S. includes speed and temp....can't beat it with a stick.

Thanks. I've been looking at the Garmin for quite a while. I just wanted to see if I could get a higher degree of definition to locate walleyes close to the bottom. Definition is critical since I fish the Columbia river where current plays such an important role.

Well, if you're needing more definition than 240x240, you've just doubled the price of the Garmin.

You can look at the Bottomline mentioned, I think the definition on that is 240x400.

Or for about the same coin as the Bottomline, look at the Lowrance LCX-15MT...that should be 480x350.

Both are considerably more money than the Garmin but you do get better resolution.

I have the lowrance LMS-240 and it is a great unit and you get GPS to boot
I think its the most bang for the bucks and the best unit out there

a friend has the lowrance 15 and it doesn't do anything the LMS-240 doesn't do
