I was jigging the other day and set the rod down to throw a fish in the well and when i looked back my favorite rod was going over the side. and they dont make the rod anymore. Any suggestions on a new jiggn rod for the missouri river for around a $100!!!!

For $100, look hard at the St. Croix Eycon. For the price, they are hard to beat. They are typically about $10 cheaper online or at Gander Mountain if you have one near by.

Cabela's is running their 20 dollars off $150 or more for catalog/online orders. I would echo the Eyecon recomendation or with the coupon, jump up to an Avid

Hard to beat the 6 foot HM85 Walleye Angler Rod from Bass Pro Shops. It's the exact rod I've used in competition for years, has a graphite blank comparable to rods with three times the expense and normally sells in the $100 range.

Walleyes,
A very good reason to always have a few rod holders always in place around the boat.
Then, do yourself a favor as well as your friends and instruct your fishing buddies to never set the rod down in the boat.
Ask them to always place the rod in a rod holder or in a locker. Never put a rod on a seat, on the floor, or leaning against the side of the boat.

By keeping the rods in a rod holder when not in a persons hands, the likely hood of either losing or breaking a rod is reduced many times.

It is a very rare event that I have ever heard of a rod being broken while being held in a rod holder. However, hundreds of instances of rods being broken when leaned against the side of the boat, on a seat, or on the floor of a boat.

Good fishing.

Hi walleyesd09, I agree with brmoffatt, I own and use both and they perform well. I have not tried the rod Mr. Parsons suggested but when you are fortunate enough to receive an opinion from him I am sure you can take it to the bank. He has sparked my interest. Have a great year.

Thank you,
Larry Mac

Check out Scheels, house rod. Also check out Gander mountain house rod.

Many of these imported rods represent an excellent value and may be as good as or even better than some of the high priced rods.

Good luck

I broke my favorite jigging spinning rod which was close to 25 years old. I started looking on E-Bay for another one because the only rods I could find in stores that had the same sensitivity and lightness were over $200.00:mad:. Found one in like new condition!!

Might want to try the same thing I did.

all are good recommendations for rods around $100. Another very good, one of the best for the money (IMO) are the berkley series one jigging rods. Can't go wrong with this one, or the others listed.
