Has anyone had one of these or tested one? How did it handle what top speed did it get? How does it compare to the 1860 or older 617? Thanks for the input!

I have not been in a 1760/1750 but I did own a 617 before. Although the newer boats are wider, I think the 617 fisherman design was a bit better. When they first increased the HP rating on the new boats to 150HP I asked the dealer the price difference between a 1760/1750 and the 1860/1850 both with 150's on them and he said it was only about 3 grand. The 18ft boat would be more than worth the price difference. You are getting a lot more boat for that amount of money. My 1850 is night and day difference over a 617. Unless you have a very short garage, you can squeeze an 18ft in a 22ft garage I believe, I wouldn't even consider not getting the bigger boat. Not sure the price difference now, but it would be more than worth it to me.....

As another 1850 owner I would suggest you take a look at the 1850 as well. They are a MUCH bigger boat. Yes, the 1750 is going to be slightly faster as it is a narrower hull, but the stability will be greater in the bigger boat as well. And I believe the price difference is smaller than BW said. I think it is more in the $1,500-2,000 range now. Mine is top speed is right around 50 when I don't have it loaded and normally about 48 with 2 people and musky gear. This is with a 19P Trophy Plus (which is a 4 blade). I'm going to try a 3 blade next year to see how that works.
