Lowrance Map Create 6, useless??

I just get a new LCX-16ci installed. It came with WAAS and map create version 6. I loaded a lake erie map on the mmc card. It shows the island and navigation markers but no depth or contures. I purchased the Navionics US649XL which give me the detail I wanted. I have not found anyway that map create is of use to me.
My question is; what use are you getting out of the program? Anything I should be trying that would make it useful?

map create 6 leaves alot to be desired
it only shows the american side of lake erie and lake ontario
and you are right no depths or contours etc..

lowrance puts out a world class fishfinder GPS unit and then doesn't have any map software to go with it
I hope lowrance knows of this problem and gets with lake master to put out some great maps to use on their units
