Can not mark fish,marks bottom well but no fish ??

my 168 has done a great job for me. try a few things. first make sure that the ducer is pointed straight down. seems dumb but many times it's pointed away from the bottom directly below the boat. Next check your gain, it should be at normal or +1, just see what helps. If you have the fish symbols on take them off. You'll see cigar shaped things or clouds (fish and baitfish) not the perfect arches that companies want you to believe is reality. I trust my 168 because it doesn't lie. If there are no fish then I see no fish!

Keep adjusting the sensitivity until you get it right. If you have a good signal for the bottom, my bet is that the unit is working properly, it just needs a little tweaking.
Did you get the Hotspots Maps with your 168? How accurately does the unit show your position? My old GlobalMap 2000 (c-mpa) did a pretty good job of showing me right where I was, but I'm underimpressed with the 168 and Hotspots so far. Maybe I'm doing something wrong??
