View Full Version : Anyone using a "Snapper" OR 18 clip with mono?
Does this work, or will it hurt mono/co-polymer lines?

I use the snappers on my boards----I run Fireline but a buddy runs 10lb Mono---He has No problems with the mono---Good luck to you!---Ray.......Upnorthwalleye
Thanks Ray, I just switched from Fire back to mono. Thought the Fire would be great for helping me maintain my tackle in all the trees we have down here, but all it did was give me a sore arm and some scary rod bends. Put the red clips back on and they just seemed weak.

Been using braided and momo with snappers for a couple of years now. The results have been great. You will probually have to change the setting/pressure on the snapper release because of different line diameter. Good fishing

I run both with my Off Shore boards equipped with OR-18 releases, and have not had a single problem yet!

I do agree with Dennis----Had a few boards decide to pop off with my Fireline on Winnebago!!-Tighten those Snappers!-Not fun when you have to pull one side to turn and go back for boards!!!....Good luck to you. Ray...Upnorthwalleye
