View Full Version : Wealthwood, MN by Mille Lacs?

How far (boat ride or miles) is Wealthwood,MN to the mud flats on Mille Lacs? Never fished it and I am staying at Red Door Resort in early August and have been told the flats are the place to fish. Just wondering how far of a ride I am in for.

You are within 1 1/2 miles of the nearest flats, This is a nice ramp,although tough to launch/load in SW,S,SE winds.I would suggest Myr Mar Marina a few miles to the west.All blacktop and nice protected harbor.The ramp fee is worth it.Good luck!

straight out in front of the red door are several flats at about a mile and a half or so; weimer flat, bombeck, and resort flat a little west of that, and a lot more flats if you feel like venturing a little farther out onto the lake. Here is a tip if you get a little too far out onto the lake and get turned around; notice as you leave the harbor that there is 2 hills on the west side of the lake by the town of garrison that can be seen from a long ways--good luck

Thank you for the tip. I know we will get turned around at some point. Also, can't I load/unload at Red Door Resort or do they not have a ramp? I know they have a protected harbor we rented, but I guess I never asked about a ramp.

Yes...... the Door has a good ramp. And it is protected. You will like it there....Fred has a great place. I'm there most weekends.
