Well, those wacked out animal rights zealots are flapping their twisted tongues once again and among their targets: The Judeo-Christian ethic. At the recent Animal Rights 2002 National Conference held June 28-July3 in Washington, DC, a spokesman, Peter Singer (a Princeton prof dubbed the "godfather" of animal rights) says Christianity is a problem for their movement because "the Judeo-Christian ethic teaches not only that humans have souls and animals don't, but that humans are made in the image of God and that God gave man dominion over the animals...all three taken together have a very negative influence on the way in which we think of animals."

Without getting into a theological discussion, it seems to me that such bizarre pronouncements accentuate the fervor with which these people view their mission in life. They advocate violence and other illegal acts to stop hunting and fishing and that "if a human died from one of (his) actions, (he) would consider it collateral damage."

There you have it. As a fisherman (or Christian or Jew) you are a target. If you should happen to fall as a result of your pursuit you'd be "collateral damage."

Are these people nuts or what? The scary part is that their movement continues to grow and that, seeing an opprtunity, politicians slowly gravitate toward their direction. Any suggestions? (Non-violent, of course.)

I say: Pass on the traditions of hunting and fishing to the kids. Find out what your political representatives have to say on this matter. Don't assume that the rights you enjoy today will be yours forever.

I think I'll email this topic to several people.

Murder is against GOD's law and man's law, and murder is what they are talking about, not collateral damage. Self defense and the defense of others against the implamentation of threats such as this is allowed by man's law and demanded by GOD's law.

"The year 1935 will go down in history. For the first time a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficent, and the world will follow our lead into the future." --- Adolph Hitler

Peter Singer's book "Animal Liberation" is considered a bible of animal rights. It was published in 1975 and is a cornerstone of the animal right philosophy. I have a copy and I have read it. Something happened in Singer's past that has made him very bitter towards organized religion (same can be said of Ingrid Newkirk of PeTA), and Singer's violent attitudes towards Christianity comes out in many ways in his book. Severe emotional dysfuntions in his life also come out in his book. He is a very sick person. How he was appointed to his position at Princeton is beyond my comprehension. It just goes to show how far some of the major universities have gone away from teaching and into unashamed propagandizing.

Some things I have noticed about most animal rights people: They are anti-christian, pro-abortion, place the value of an animals life equal to or greater than than that of a person. They have been quoted in making comments such as: "To take honey from a bee is immoral". "College students should drink beer, not milk." "I would rather go naked than wear fur." "Hooking a fish in the mouth is barbaric."
Some AR groups are nothing more than cheap terrorists. One such group is ALF, Animal Liberation Front. They have claimed responsibility for numerous acts of terrorism. Even so, it seems the media downplays these acts and the federal government doesn't seem to want to step in and prosecute them.

Stake the proffessor to the ground in bear country, comb his hair in bacon grease and let him preach all he want's! ;) Those bears listen real well. What ever happened to common sense? Should it bought? This guy should demand a refund or was he standing in the wrong "line"????? With all his stink you think him and his philosphies could draw bears, possums, skunks, and flies. As for idiots it's obvious he must be a good draw.

You are correct MIFISH. I knew I could get the CAPS out of ya'!

It also makes me laugh that all these liberals think "Big Business" is evil. Amazing that "Big Government" is not. Go figure.

I walked into my father-in-laws house to find him shaking his head while reading the paper. I notice that he is reading a story about Worldcom and he says to me "##### republicans!". I am very sure that I cannot sway him from his leftist leanings - believe me that I have tried.

Good Luck
