Local boat dealers should have it.
Cabelas sell it.
I guess you have to look for Marine grade carpet.

Defender is a great site for ordering marine products, they have good prices and quick delivery.

Look for a heavier weight carpet for longer wear, say around 20oz. Shopping is same as home carpet, by pulling the pile apart to see, or rather how difficult it is seeing the backing.

Here's a place that has good price for premium grade 20oz

If you have a Mills Fleet Farm near you, check out their Marine grade carpet. The last time I bought some of their 20oz carpet the price was about 1/3 the cost of what online suppliers were charging plus there are no shipping charges.

I have a 98 Alumacraft Dominator. Does anyone know how hard it would be to replace? (Carpet)

you never really know until you start getting into it just how in depth it will be. I am replacing my main area on a 2025 pro v right now with vinyl and it has been WAY more difficult than my previous rig, 1800 Fisherman.

Vinyl is the way to go.

Carpet absorbs water and the moisture promotes mildew growth. Since I ripped out all the carpet in my boat and replaced it with vinyl I've had zero mildew growth!

Yea, I can see it being easier to clean with no mildew but my buddy has a vinyl floor and it gets wet....very slippery. Also when your fishing colder temperatures and you get a little bit of ice,,,,not so good. At least carpet will absorb initial moisture.

GKO,
Make it simple on your self.
Leave your current carpet in your boat.
Then, just go and pick up a decent piece of carpet.
Use a piece of heavy paper to make a template for the floor of your boat.
Cut out where the seat pedestals are located as well as hatches.
Lay the carpet on the floor of the garage. Lay the paper over the top.

It works best if you lay the face of the carpet on the floor and do your cutting from the backside of the carpet.

Trace the appropriate pattern to match the side of the carpet that you are cutting from.

When done, lay the carpet in place and you are good to go.

If your lay in carpet gets too dirty, or soiled, simply take it out, blast it out with a good car wash or your garden hose. If needed, use a scrub brush as you are blasting it out.

Hang the carpet out to dry, and when dry, lay back in the boat.

Hold onto the template for the floor of your boat.

If the lay in carpet gets too dirty or worn, simply pick up another piece of carpet, cut a new piece to fit your boat and lay in place.

If done well, looks very nice and is easy to maintain and or replace.

Take care

p.s.
Essentially, you are doing the same thing with this carpet as you do in your truck when you buy floor matts.
Of course it is even better if you do this when the boat is new, to keep dirt and wear off of the original carpets or floor.

I recarpeted my boats interior last year with 24 oz. marine carpet from Bass Cat. You can find it on their web site and it is really nice stuff. I looked at many other carpets and this was the thickest one I could find and well worth the price. They will ship it right to your door. I do believe this is what they use on the boats they build. Good luck with the project. It's a lot of fun once you get started. Watch the grain of the carpet though so you get it all going the same way. Looks much better that way.
