I live in northern Wisconsin. Fishing this evening and looked at the cover of my crawler container as I've done a million times before...ya know, where it says "Canadian Crawlers." Never really pondered it before, but I got to wondering if Canadian crawlers means they're actually from Canada, or if it's just a description for the type of crawler, i.e.: does it just mean "big crawlers?" Thanks.
Lou in Alex.

Lou is very fortunate. . .in our part of the Midwest, the hot, dry spring & aummer have limited crawler catchin' to individuals who condition and (over)water their yards for crawlers.
Normally, there are several weeks in April & May when an overnight downpour will allow an early morning crawler harvest. You simply walk the sidewalks and streets with a coffee can. Although I am on my way to work each morning at, or before, sunrise, I didn't see that even once this year. :-(
