Just orderd the LMS 240 from Galyans, checked around and this was the best price I could find. Does any one know where to get the MMC cards at a good price, the guy at galyans didn't know for sure the price. Also could you tell me all what you can do with these cards and how to do it,haven't gotten it yet just trying to get a head start.
I bought mine at best buy.

JBob is the memory cards you got at best buy the same kind that fit the 2400 GPS and do you have to get a card writer in order to load the software on them or whats the deal.
I have a 2400 coming in the mail to replace my 310 and I need to start asking a few questions.
I'm sure there will be instructions with the unit but it doesn't hurt to ask. And I'm sure they don't tell ya to go to best buy for them either:)
Thanks

I down loaded the chip out of the box for the 240. I don't think that the 2400 is any different.

Jbob doe that mean you insert the chip in the 240 and then downloaded software from you puter and it put it on the chip in the unit.
What software did you download?
I'm LOST
Thanks

squarehook- you really dont need extra cards. any softwhere you buy will come on one. if you didnt get the map create 6 with the unit you will need to buy a card reader. share a map create with someone as its not worth the price unless you are in unfamiliar waters and then it only puts the outline of the kake on your map.[and restaraunts, accesses and such]. i put in all the map for south of mille lacs to the north of l.o.w. on one chip. you can use map create 5 also if you know someone that has one.
The software comes with the unit. I brought a 32 meg chip and put the whole state of MN, N and s Dakota on it. You put the cd in the puter and down load on the chip than put the chip in the unit.
