I am planning a trip to Lake Sakakawea, but have never been there. Any information on where to stay and where to rent boats would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, JackSalmon.

www.fishingbuddy.com has links to both Indian Hills and Dakota Waters. I would recommend Indian Hills(the fishing is more consistant), but I think they still have only four "condos" for lodging.

Indian Hills all the way, Byron & Tollie run a dam* good place. It ain't the ritz but your in Nodak. I have never stayed in the Condos, but have used the campground many times and it has decent clean showers. Good Fishing

A nice stop on the south shores of Sakakawea would be Dakota Waters Resort, north of Beulah. Try their website at www.dakotawaters.com. I fish near the Dakota Waters area year-round and fishing is excellent in this area.

Other options might be Indian Hills Resort as others have mentioned, and possibly Lake Sakakawea State Park at Pick City or Fort Stevenson State Park near Garrison.

Hope your trip goes well and if you have any questions, email me.

I don't get to do nearly as much fishing as I'd like to, so I value my time on the water that much more! I take at least two trips to Indian Hills west of Garrison every year! The fishing never disappoints and the "resort" is just great with tremendous people running it!

I'd move to Nodak in a heartbeat if I could figure out a way to make a good living there. Indian Hills and the Lake are the biggest part of that desire.
