I recently purchased a lake front cabin and am in need of a good dock can anyone give me any suggestions?

There are hundreds of internet sites for boat docks. Use one of the search engines and you will be presented with hundreds of ideas you can customize to your application.

Whatever you do, don't get one with aluminum walking surface. I went that route two years ago, with maintenance in mind, and have since regretted the noise I make no matter how hard I try to walk out on the dock quietly. I like to fish from the dock, but stealth is often needed when I know fish to be present. The aluminum will creak and squeek and spook the fish.
Other than that, mine is a Roll-a-Dock and can be easily installed by two persons (one in the water with waders, one out) and can be taken out in the late fall by two persons -- nothing like the old days when putting in a dock was a heavy, hard, day-long affair.
