I just purchased some berkley powerbait hollowbelly swimbaits for a trip up north.I have use berkey gulp and have noticed that the baits tend to dry up once the package is open. Will the powerbaits do the samething? Whats the best way to keep this from happening to the gulp and the powerbaits?

Powerbait is not like gulp in that it is more of a true plastic. It will handle like other plastics in that they will not soak up anything and they will not really dry out. Just keep them in the bag and out of the sun and they will be fine for years.

Re: Gulp drying - when the original package appears to have lost/is losing it's moisture, I add a small amount of water.
I place used Gulp baits (without the jig head) which are still usable in a baggy with a little water. If I plan on using the same bait later that day, or the next day, I do not remove the Gulp from the jig head, but just place a wet piece of cloth or sponge in a baggy along with the bait on the jig head and run the still tied on hook into the rod's hook keeper. The small air gap where the bag is pierced and the "zip" portion will not allow the bait to dry out for a day or so.
