View Full Version : O.K. halberg, and Rosemount marine Not!
I have heard in the past that I would want to avoid Rosemount Marine (MN) and on another post here the Halberg Marine might want to be avoided as well. I am going to be putting in my Boat (Lund) purchase with-in 2 weeks (still checking around).
Is there anything else about the local Twin Cities rep's in MN I should know about?????
Thanx in Adv.

If I were buying a Lund in the Twin Cities, I would feel confident purchasing one from Nelson Marine or Hannays. There is also a place near Rochester that I've heard good things about, but the name eludes me right now. I'm pretty sure Hallberg doesn't sell Lunds, so you shouldn't need to consider them. I prefer not to comment on Rosemount, but others will give you an opinion. Good Luck!

I second the recommendation for Nelson Marine. I have had service done by them several times, and it has always been done to my satisfaction.
I also bought my boat from them, Ricky was the salesman. I liked the water-ready package they included with my boat.
Good luck.

A big Opps! on Halberg I just got a little into it with the other posts!
My brother went to Nelson and they sound o.k.
Just wanted to see if there were any other lemons out there....
Thanx

I posted a question over a year ago when considering the purchase of a Lund refurbished by Rosemount. I received an overwhelming voice to avoid them. There were many negative posts, a few mediocre posts, and no positive posts.

Hannays would get my vote. Not always the cheapest but in the ballpark. Their service is outstanding and they will rig it right the first time. My brother had a written quote on a rig from Rosemount last year that was by far the cheapest out there. When he went to write the check and complete the deal, they backed out, after he took a half day off of work to run down there.

I am a Crestliner guy, and extremely happy with my choice, but if you are sold on Lunds, Go talk to Erickson Marine in Hastings. Talk to Juan Pasch in sales, and also talk to Mick in service. He would be setting up your boat. Both are two of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet, and I guarantee you will buy from them after meeting them.

I am surprised I have not heard the name Rapid Sports Center in Ham Lake. I am from Indiana and bought my Pro-V from them 5 years ago and have not had a bit of trouble. The price was the best in the twin cities area and some $5,000 less than the local lund dealers here in Indy. I also came up to the boat show this past January and priced out an 1800 Fisherman and they were more competitive than Hannays and Nelsons. I think all three of these dealerships are tops, but I believe Rapid does more volume than any other Lund dealer in Minnesota. Consider it.

The dealer in Rochester is Al's Specialty Marine. They are located on HWY 63 just as you are coming into town from Lake City. They have rigged 3 Lunds for my tourney partner and now they are doing a Ranger as his fourth purchase. Ask for Terri- he knows his stuff and will treat you right. Goodluck
How about Pierz Marine?? They are as close as St. Cloud or Maple Lake. I have been very satisfied with them.

I guess I have a few more options now!
Thanx to all for the info.
I'll let you know!
