I got some great advice on how to fix the screws that were ripped out of the livewell hatch and the bow starboard hatch on my Ranger 620....http://www.walleyecentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=190164&highlight=ranger+livewell

HOWEVER, the livewell hatch uses the 10" overall length, 3" stroke, 7" compressed gas spring. Previous owner had it striaght in the air and this did not let the hatch open to 90 degrees. This was because any greater and it wouldn't close and the reason I think that the screws got ripped out in the first place... thinking that the hatch would/should open further. I see that Ranger in the newer models has a diagonal design so the hatch is straight up at a 90 but will still use the 10" spring. Could someone who has this design help me out with #1 confirming that the spring is 10" overall length, #2, the distance away from the bottom stud and how far up the lid the higher of the two is from the bottom of the lid? I greatly appreciate it. Thanks,

I contacted Ragner CS and the local dealership the same day I posted this question. Didn't get anyone to respond from the forums, the dealer gave me a cell phone pic with the promise of a measurement that never came, didn't call back becuase Ranger's CS told me that it's 3" up from the bottom of an 11" lid. Obviously, after I thought about it for a while, it would be 10" from the bottom stud. I had to take the bracket for the bottome stud off and bend it so it would be in the configuration in the photo. Have to say this is a vast improvement over what would have been with the spring at a straight 90 degrees because the lid wasn't at a 90. Now it's at a 90. Bad patch job on the foam but my thought is it's on the underside and I don't know of too many inside livewell beauty pagents in my area. Maybe this info helps someone else, who knows. Tight lines.
