night fishing tips..before 7pm e.s.t

ok guys,, i'll be heading to the river to fish for the first time at night and i was hoping to get a few good tips on night fishing for eye's...luers.spots to look for..ect..ect..etc..you get the point.the river is very low with some deep 8-12 foot holes and weeds.and breaks in some area..don't think i can make it to the dam even with my jet already broke 1 boot no reason to break another,..
