I usually pull crankbaits with four poles out,two long poles on the sides and two standard length out the back. If the waves are not bad I use sideplanners. My question is should the back poles be long lined or should the side poles have the most line out?

I have always run the shallowest baits, the farthest back, on the outside lines. Deeper baits, closer to the boat on the inside. This keeps all baits further from the boat and minimizes tangles.
He'd right, that way they don't drop back into the middle lures when they release.

Thanks for the info. Another question. I often pull four of the same size and type baits. Should I run them the same distance back or run the back two short?
Salmon fishing, where you're pulling sometimes 12 - 16 different baits and one or two of them are hot, if you change to all of them like the hot one , they quit biting. It must be that the different one looks more vulnerable or something like that. Never tried that with walleyes, but could be similar.
