View Full Version : IN-A-SNAP Removable rod holders
Has anyone ever heard of tried the IN-A-SNAP removable rod holders? They seem like a good option as my fishing boat is often used for it's conceived purpose, skiing.
Thanks for any input.

I purchased two In-A-Snap rod holders and they work fine. Snap one on each side of my boat into the cleats. Nice thing like you mention is that they can be easily removed when your boat is tarped or used for skiing. Rod holders can be rotated up or down to change angle of rod with respect to water. While these rod holders can not be pivoted having the rods always pointing 90 degrees from the direction my boat is headed is not a problem for the front mounted rods.

Hey,
I have used these rod holders for a couple years, and have had no problems at all. I have been very impressed with their strength, and the attchment is a great idea.
If you need any help with how to purchase them, please contact me.

Got one for Fathers day last year and love it. Was worried they would not be strong enough but I pull #1 dipseys on it and have had fish over 30 lbs w/ no problems. Only problem was that it did not fit into the standard Lund cleat and I had to go to Boat US to get a different cleat which fit into the same holes as the Lund cleat. They sell the cleats via their site. I got 2 @ Boat US for slightly more than their price for 1.
Thanks for the fast input. I have one more question. In the picture, they show the cleats of the boat on the inside (so that a tie line would actually go up and over the side of the boat. My rear cleats are mounted on the outside edge of my boat near the blower vents and my front cleats are actually on the top surface of the fiberglass. Will they still work?

Your cleats on your ski boat will be to tall for the in-a-snap rod holders. I added a piece of plastic to mine now they work fine. Use mine on front cleats in our ski boat, they are on top no problem good luck.
Glued the plastic on or what?
Thanks again!
I went to online store and they indicated 3 wks delivery. Any place to get them sooner?
Thanks again

What I did was get a piece of plastic about .200 thick and cut it to shape of base. Drilled hole in 2 places in base and plastic piece, tapped plastic piece and used 2 screws. You won't have problem with scratching boat. Good luck

These rod holders will only fit in 4-1/2 cleats and most newer boats(Yar-Craft, Lund ) are 6in, unfortunatly you will have to add add some more holes to the boat if you buy them also they are kind of expesive $30 after shipping and if you have to buy another cleat and remount them........you get the drift, save your money.
They may fit the 83 Larson.
Thanks for the input.
