Wondering which of Minn Kota removable mounts most guys are using for their Terrovas. Will install on new 1750 Fish Hawk. Would appreciate likes & dislikes. Thanx.

Mines the older Universal slider plates with the thumb screw on one side. Bought originally for the PowerDrive, but fit the Terrova also. I found that the only time I ever removed the PD was when I swapped it for the Terrova. Likely that that will be the last use until it is time to take the Terrova permanently off. But then, I had a custom cover made for the boat that fits over the TM, we live in a very low crime area, and I don't believe electronics in the motor are harmed by sitting in the cold all winter.
That particular mount is not the easiest for use, so I would not tend to recommend it if you were frequently removing and putting back your TM.

I like the MKA-21. Easy to use, and when the motor is off the boat there are no sharp edges like on the MKA-16 to cut the kids.

MKA-21 is the way to go. Clean and easy to mount and remove your Terrova. I needed to drill out the rear hole in mine to get my motor to mount properly. Other than that, I love it. It's more than solid and I have the same model Terrova on a Lund 1825 Pro Guide. More than enough power to move my boat.

Another vote for the MKA-21. Love mine, doesn't rattle, small compact when the motor is off. No sharp eadges. In my mind the best option!

Just mounted my Terrova with one of the older metal sliders that was on my power drive. Works great, but I only remove my motor when the cover goes on for storage over the winter. For security I use a lock though the slot on the mount. Had to trim the retaining thumb screw to clear the cable.

I used the MKA-21 on my Lund Fisherman. However, had problems with the bolt hole configuration and it not fitting far enough out, which let the shaft of the trolling motor hit the side of the boat. Had to manufacture a mount out of stainless steel.

Make sure the MK-21 will work on a carpeted bow deck. I hear they can be difficult to remove the release pin due because of the height of the carpet next to the bracket.

A Stainless washer or 2 between the deck and the bracket will fix that problem.

The MKA-21 and carpeted decks need a little more... Put one on the front of my alumacraft that has carpeted decks/gunnels. With the puck bolted tight it was impossible to get the two pins into place. Minnkota sells another "adapter" for this setup. It's $40 and just a plastic mounting base that goes in between the puck and carpet to give a nice flat surface.

I ordered a black piece of starboard plastic from boatoutfitters.com for $10. It's the same stuff minnkota uses for the mka-21 adapter and now the unit works as it should.
