had an issue last year with not being able too shut off new 2011 etec 250 with out wiggling the wires under dash so bought a new key pad from ranger installed whent out for first time this year worked fine for half a dozen times now wont shut off at all even wiggling the wires .... any thoughts on the problem thanks

Don't know why your having that problem but would suggest getting a auxiliary key switch from Ranger. About $38 and plugs into wher the keypad does. Safe bet when pad goes out on the water.

When did you get the new keypad that you installed? They had a recall on keypads installed in the 2012 boats, so you may have gotten one of those and they missed getting a letter to you since it was a replacement.

My boat was built in January and ended up with one of the keypads from the bad batch, so chances are yours is one of those too.

Just a thought. I would call them and ask if yours is one that needs to be replaced with the new batch of keypads.

i put in a key switch so you dont have to trust the key pad

thank god I had the key switch in the glove box ,but I would of just shut the fuel off,im goona give ranger a call and see if there was a recall on it thanks guys
