Just returned from a northern states visit and was interested to know what type of fishing is done in Chequamegon Bay?
Thanks in advance for you replies.

Smallies, walleye, perch, splake, trout, northern.....and more I am sure I am missing. I can be tough to fish at times and the wind can play havoc, but it is a neat piece of water.

When is it too late in the year to fish this water? I'm going that way in October and am wondering if it is too late (and Rough) in the season. Anyone know of a good guide for that area?

The fishing in oct depends on the weather. It is mainly smallmouth or large northern pike. The fishing is usually very good unless there is a big wind.Check the web-site for some pics. Herb www.anglingadv.com

I'll 2nd the advice on using Chris Beeksma for a guide on Cheq Bay.
I have used him several times in past 3 years for great smallie trips. Late fall trips have been mostly live bait rigging and very weather dependent. His email is: getbit@baysat.net
