Seems like we have been having a lot of cold fronts lately here in MI. Seems to shut the fish down compared to a steady weather pattern, how do you guys sucessfully fish a cold front? (I mostly fish smaller inland lakes for walleye) Thanks in advance.

Haven't been able to get the blue gills to bite with these weather fronts hanging around. Out eight days and caught one rock bass. I can't figure it out. Good fishing, God bless.

Usually when a cold front hits here, the fish move deeper and you must SLOW your presentation way down. The smallest jig size you can use to get down is best and sometimes they want a plastic tail, strikes are usually very lite. Hope this helps

I fish rivers and streams at this time. If that is not an option do as Eyemadman says, deep, slow and w/ a very simple presentation. Lindy rig w/ long (8-12') low lb. test (4-6lb)leaders and a simple hook w/ one or no beads has worked for me. If you use leeches don't use jumbos at this time, use smaller baits. If you can watch fish on your depth finder, fish individual fish slowly and eventually many will take.
