Hi there,

I was just wondering how many people on here stretch the truth in some of there posts? Let's be honest here.

I would like to make very clear that i AM NOT accusing anyone of lying, i was just wondering if anyone ever has.

The type of thing i think i am getting at, is how many people go out and catch 10 small walleye, and come back and report they caught 15 and one 25 incher??

Maybe it doesn't happen, i was just wondering! Once again, i am not accusing anyone, just wondering if it happened.

Watch out for the guys that like to fish by themselves, they don't like to have a witness with them. I know several guys like this and they never have a bad day until you go with them. "Oh you should have been here last week" is there line. Not to say that all these people are liar's but you can bet a good % are. Must be an EGO thing.

Miker-

ALL fishermen are liars or bullsh*tters, except
for you and me....and I'm not so sure about you.

They're all 30-inch 10-pounders until some jerk shows up with a scale and a ruler! ;-)

Reminds me of the old question, "Do you know how to tell if a fisherman is lying? --- Watch his lips, if they are moving, he's lying." Now I know you and I don't do this, except when it comes to where you caught them, right? Actually, I have seen a major change in the last X number of years. Today, more fisherman are willing to tell you (maybe not exactly where), but what depth, what they were using, etc. Today they, and particularly people on this board, are more helpful than ever.
Good luck and watch their lips.

10% of the fisherman on a particular lake catch all the keepers. I have 4 photo albums full of eyes I have caught over the years and I very rarely fish alone. One particular day, 2 of us limited out on huge wallys on a lake were if you caught 1 most people are estatic, they were lined up at the dock waiting when we came in, the kicker was we had 2 pike over 40 inches! Most people who have never caught a hog, doubts there are hogs, on the same note they have never limited in a short period of time so it is hard for them to grasp the complete walleye experience!

Some of you guys are something else. If a guy tells you that he had a good day, believe him. What's the big deal if a guy goes out and catches his limit? I think you are jealous that they are catching fish. I like to fish by myself because it's hard to find somebody like myself that likes to fish hard. I'll be honest with you, there's not many days that I don't get my limit. So, if you want to believe that, that's up to you. I'll tell you one thing, 10% of the fisherman catch the fish. And the bull**** walks. So guys, why don't you stop your bull****ing now and get out and start fishing. Be glad somebody is willing to give you a tip. When I started fishing years ago, I didn't have all this information. I started from the bottom and worked my way up. Most of these guys today would quit if they had to start from the bottom. So, read my lips: If you don't beleive it, who cares? Happy fishing -Ray

I wish I could remember all of a poem I read years ago. It started with the fisherman being "full of hope and pure of spirit" when he left in the morning, but when he returned that night "the truth was no longer with him".

For me I never embellish the size of my fish. Although, by January, my memory of fish caught in June can become a bit cloudy.....TGG

Hey Ray, lighten up! I didn't do the quote as condemnation of fisherman as lying - just as a joke. Boy, when you claim to be a serious fisherman you're not kidding.

I agree with Night_Eyes. Take some pictures, let um' go. Photographic evidence does not lie. although some people can take really good fish pictures. Hold um way out and hide those $%^##(* fingers.

Lo be the angler,
He waketh early and unsettle the whole house.
Upon his return he smells of spirits and the truth is not in him.

Or something like that.

Al Linder once said "10% of all fisherman catch 90% of the fish"

SO---one may presume that 90% of us are working overtime to look as good as the "BIG 10", a lie or two just might find it's way into that process?

Not me though! But maybe thats a lie too?????????

The most reliable fishing info I have found seems to be when the number and size of the fish are not listed. For instance, "The walleye are biting at lake X near the deep drop-offs" or "A good number of fish have been caught on harnesses" seem to be good info while "I caught 15 6lb fish and 10lber" seem to be the ones that don't hold true.

If everyone on here told the truth, that means most walleye fisherman have a ranger 620, with a 225, and for them catching a 10 pounder or 2 is no big deal. Give me a break, most people i see are in 16 fotters with a 2o HP!

My 2 cents,
