I use 3-D stick on eyes sometimes but I'm partial to painting them on. I tried the paint pen thing once and was very disappointed. I just use some quality round brushes that can be found in craft stores in a variety of sizes. I also use vinyl paint for the eyes between the curing and clearcoat process.

Good Luck

Sharpies are the ticket for me.

I paint on most of the eyes using lacquer paint. Nail heads of various sizes make good applicators.
if stick on eyes are used I use clear Seal-Coat to cover the eyes. Actually I use Seal-Coat for a final coat on all my Jig heads.

Sharpies or stick on eyes for me. Have tried the paint pens and painted eyes with mixed results = mostly a mess. LOL I give a shot of tough as nails clear nail polish over the stick on eyes and they are good to go. I like the prisim or glow eyes myself.

Whats everyone using for a clear top coat?

I used Component Systems clear coat for top coat in the past. Last year I switched to CS UV blast.
I don't know if the UV works or not,but both top coats worked well.

I am a fan of powder paints. If you asked me two years ago I'd of said seal coat or aero dope clear gloss.

Eraser on end of pencil for large circle. 1/8" dowel in contrasting color for pupil.

Also do-it stick-on eyes in glow or prism.

Only do clearcoat on jigs with stick-on eyes, helps keep them on. On other jigs powder paint ends up with a nice gloss, seems like an unnecessary step. (I don't get too crazy with jigs, they get broke off in rocks or in Northern jaws long before the paint wears off)

i like the prism eyes a lot. and to keep them from peeling off when a fish hits it, i put a skim coat of 2 ton epoxy over the eyes. the finish doesnt dull, or yellow.
