I have a Boker ceramic knife that was given to me as a gift. I've noticed lately that it has small chips along the blade edge and dosent seem as sharp. Is this normal for this type of knife, does anyone have any tips on care for these knives or know where to get one sharpened in the Twin Cites area.

I would try Boker. Most knife makes offer sharpening as a service for a small fee. Boker should know how to put the edge back on. A diamond stone may work if you know the edge angle and have a jig.

Ceramic gets close to diamond in hardness, has a very fine grain structure so it will take an edge and hold it. Cutter bits for hardened steel are made from it

The problem is the little chips you are finding. Ceramic is easily fractured. The edge geometry needed for a sharp hunting knife leaves little support for the edge. Bumping the edge on something hard or using it to pry or scrap can cause it to chip. Be carful with it, it's a hunting knife used to cut flesh not a utility knife used to cut almost anything. That knife should hold a razor edge that will last a lifetime of gutting, just have to treat it like glass.
