I really like Siver Thread a lot..Low diameter and a good abrasion resistant line (we use it a lot on the Misissippi) or try Berkley Sensi-Thin in either 6 or 8 lb. test..Best o' luck
I just go with fireline on everything now. For the sensitivity but also because I don't have to change the line every few weeks like you do with mono.

You didn't say if you wanted it for spinning or bait casting gear.
But for Spinning I would use Stren Easy Cast. This line was designed just for spinning gear and it is very tough. I use it in 4. 6 and 8 lb test on my spinning gear.
As for bait casting equipment I would use Super Silver Thread or Excalibur if I were going to be casting it around trees. Or even original Stren as a second.
Possibly even Fireline for both, it has it's place but I still like mono.

Check out the Spider Wire Super Mono XL.
Tried it this year and really like it. Small Dia. , high abrassion resistance, good knot strength.
The only thing I don't like about it, is they put a glue tab on the line when they package it. They should also use a larger dia. spool.
Other than that the pro's out weigh the con's.
Good luck!

Different strokes for different folks. I didn't like Easy Cast because my knots slipped unless I tied them perfectly. Slipping clinch knots cost me a couple crankbaits. Palomar knots held. I have a real problem recommending Excalibur for any fish with teeth. I bought a spool of 10lb test the first year it was sold, and tied a bunch of spinner rigs with it. First day out, I lost one very large and a half dozen eater walleyes. Their teeth cut the line when they turned away from the boat. The water was very clear; I got the added frustration of watching my spinner blades and beads sink to the bottom. The knots hadn't slipped, there was no squiggle at the end.
Six pound test walleye line? Normal Stren or Magnathin. Trilene XL is okay too, but XT is too stiff on the reel for my taste. Fireline and the superbraids are specialty lines. Mono is more general purpose.
i use berkley sensi thin and i think it is the best i have used.
