I will be fishing the bay in the next few weeks, and DEFINITELY plan on dragging Reef Runner cranks. I will let you know how I do with them. I think the new Deep Little Rippers will do well!

Hello there,

I to fish Saginaw Bay, and I do so very frequently and have been doing so for the past 10 years, which is over have my life.

The traditional crank baits that work well on the Bay have been Hot n' Tots, Wiggle Warts, Rapala Husky Jerks, and Thundersticks. I have never trolled with Reef Runner's of any kind on the Bay, however I would almost guarantee sucess.

My experience with large, hard throbbing body baits, such as the Reef Runner lures is that to try trolling reefs or sunken island areas, and don't over look sand bars. I would personally try trolling them at about 1.5-2.0 mph in about 15-30 foot off of these bars, reefs, and drops in the lake, including the shipping channel.

I personally prefer to troll hand-tied crawler harness', but I have seen, and have caught some very heafty limits of Saginaw Bay Walleye on Body Baits.

If you want any more specific information on locations, harness' or colors, etc. feel more then welcome to email me with them.

I hope I was some help.
Good luck, and Good fishing.

I used the Ripsticks this past spring out on the bay. I outproduced a buddy of mine that was using Rapalas 2-1.
I guess that tells you how I feel about the lures.
