Can someone recommend a place that sells fish houses on wheels within an hour of the twin cities? I hear there is one in buffalo, mn but I do not know the name of it. I would like to buy one and stay around 6,000 is that realistic? Any suggestions? Thanks, Joe

In N. Dakota an icehouse on wheels is an old pickup with the floor boards rusted out.

Truck-Mate portable houses inc. of St. Joseph 1-320-363-1870 D.R. Martineau Const. Forest Lake 1-651-464-5655 I don't have one of these but they look pretty nice in Outdoor News. I built my own.

Frank's RV in Ramsey, 763-323-0099, makes the Ultra Shack. It's a very nice house, and I've had nothing but great service from Frank.

Joe: I have a KingCROW 7.5/16 foot house on wheels and I think it's GREAT. KingCROW has a web site and shows all of the units with the pricing. I don't know the address for them, but if you search "KingCROW" it will come up. They are in Kingston MN, just north of Dassel on Hwy 15, about 50 mi west of Mpls on Hwy 12 They often advertise in Outdoor News, and are a smaller company that usually has a stock of ready to go units. I have had mine for over 7 years and I think it is a good one. I also use it in the summer for camping. I added 80 lbs of propane and 2 800 amp hour deep cycle batteries for lights and TV plus I have Marine and Ham Radios to keep me company while the fishing is slow. Check THEM OUT....Kaz

As the others have suggested, many of the manufacturers advertise in Outdoor News, so you may want to pick up a copy and thumb through it. It may be a bit early in the season for them to be advertising, however. there are a couple outfits on 169 near Milaca, but I can't think of their names off hand. You may want to check with Milaca Unclaimed Freight, as they usually have some in their parking lot. Not sure who manufacturers them.....
