Try Lake City Country Inn 651,345.5351 or Sunset Motel 800.945.0192 or Coffee Mill 651.565.4561

Hope this helps. Walleye Mike

You could try the Wabasha Motel in Wabasha. Nothing fancy but you can drive to your door and there's plenty of parking and good rates, $135 per week. Wabasha is about 11 or 12 miles south of Lake City. If everything else is booked it's a good bet.

I stayed at the Wabasha Motel just a month ago, as I drew a late season turkey license in SE MN.Let me tell you this that the Wabasha city fire dept. pages it's firemen not by pager, but by air raid siren.Guess where the air raid siren is- right behind the motel at the city hall building. Do you know what happened to me on the Fri., or third day of my hunt at 3:45 a.m.? You guessed it, the siren went off, and I went 3-4 feet straight up off the bed. Needless to say I woke up a half an hour earlier than I had planned to, and drove down to my hunting spot. This is not a story just for this thread, as there was a bass fishing tournament that weekend on Lake Pepin, and a few bass fisherman got an early wake up as well. If any of those guys visit this forum, go ahead and verify my eventful nite at the Wabasha Motel. Other than that, the motel was fine.Just hope the fire dept. doesn't get an emergency call in the middle of the night.

Hey reels,

I can second Walleye Mikes choices, although, if you are going for the MWC tourney this Sept, Lake City Country Inn is booked full.

When I reserved my room, they told me I had the last one. And I had to take a single. My partner, being 14 years my junior, will take the air mattress and sleep on the floor. (He doesnt know that part of it yet).

Good luck...........R

I have to second the Wabasha Motel. John & Marge run a good clean affordable place. Very friendly people. I stay there 10-12 times a year when I fish Lake Pepin during the season. Never have heard a fire alert siren any of those times. Stay away from The Cooffee Mill. They just raised their prices through the roof this year.
