Does the 7500 or 7800 have the capability of acting as a stand alone unit, or does it only work through my Pinpoint 3700 trolling motor?

My understanding is they work in conjunction with the motors only. A 20 series will work with the motor or stand-alone. A lot of guys, including Mike Jensen where I learned this, buy 20 series for all boat viewing positions to increase flexibility since they work w/motors or stand-alone.
I'm just setting up my own Pinpoint stuff. Isn't it fantastic.

Todd is right I have a pinpoint book and it says they are for positioning motors only. All the 20's are for both. CW
The models which end in "00" require a PinPoint trolling motoer.
The models which end in "20" can operate standalone, or with your PinPoint motor.
