Running boards

I recently purchased a pair of stainless running boards for my 2002 Chevrolet 2500HD pick-up and am wondering if there any way to make the boards stick out a little farther from the truck? Does anyone know of different brackets or extensions that can be used? I talked to my dealer and they said they couldn’t help me. I emailed Luverne but haven't heard back yet so I thought I would try the wealth of knowledge on the Walleye Board.
