View Full Version : wave forecast for Erie
I was looking to fish Erie this weekend but wanted to know where/if there was a page that had forecast for wave height or wind directions? I think I have seen this info on here before but I can't seem to call it up. Any help is appreciated.

you can get still shots from 5 or so spots on Erie as well as other Great lakes, plus NOAA weather.

try www.fisherie.com and follow the links for marine weather, they give near-shore and off-shore wind and waves and many links to other marine weather sites.

To be honest, there is NO such thing as a wave forecast for erie. the best way to find out is to call someone in the area that you are going to fish, and get them to tell you what is going on there, at that time. the other day we were out 7 miles and the lake was like glass, the forecast was for 3 to 4 footers. the first 1 1/2 miles closer to shore had maybe a 2 foot chop on it, the nothing out farther. depending on the area you are going to fish, the buoys may not even help, unless you will be fishing real close to the perticular buoy. i hope this helps some, and dont confuse you. good luck and good fishin.
