I'm going to buy a new boat in Jan. and am thinking very seriously about the Lund 1675 Tiller. Most of the lakes I fish here in Ohio have a 10 hp limit. I've got a 9.9 Johnson and a 45hp Johnson commercial that clamps on so I can switch when I go to higher hp lakes. Everything I can find on the Lund, length, width, and layout looks real good. I'm also thinking about getting the vynl floor instead of carpet. Waddya think?

I just got a 1675 SS... the 90" beam is nice! Lots of room. As for the tiller, I didn't check it out, so I can't make any comments specific to it. I did however get the vinyl floor....cleans up very easily (I spilled a whole can of Coke and ground in a couple of crawlers on the first trip out and it cleaned up in 2 minute w/ hose at home!). Definately get the vinyl! Oh, yeah, 2003 Lunds feature a new red; brighter than the older color, and it looks real nice (my wife nearly INSISTED that I get a new boat when she saw the new color...thank you Lund! LOL!).
Good luck!

I got a 2003 1675 Explorer Lund tiller this summer. I was going to go with the vinyl but because I am always mounting “stuff” and then moving it, I decided to go with the carpet. I have put many holes in the carpet already and you would never know it. I have the charcoal carpet and I believe it does hide the dirt better than the other carpet colors.
I put on a 70hp 4-stroke Johnson (it has a long handle) but still felt the drivers seat was too far forward, so I moved it as far back as possible. I also mounted another seat in the back for long runs when I have another person in the boat.
I felt there was too much weight in the back of the boat so I put both batteries up front to help balance out the weight better.

Grunt,
Do you find that the vinyl gets slippery when wet?

hatchetman-
I'm looking at the exact same boat and issues. My dealer told me to buy by the mid to later part of November to beat Lunds '03 price increase. Wonder if that's true. Interested in knowing if the vinyl is slick when wet as well.
Good luck.

Thats the two things that concern me, slippery when wet and what about the holes if you move something that you've already mounted. My dealer gave me prive on a 2003 model and didn't mention it going up after the first of the yaer. I'll check and make sure. Thanks for the reply's, I appreciate it.

No, I haven't had too much problem with the vinyl when wet. It has a lot of texture in it so I haven't noticed any slipping. The 1675 is a pretty dry ride most of the time for me too.
I hadn't considered the problem with hiding holes for add on toys...carpet would be better for that, but my buddies and I are such slobs that we would have trashed the carpet by now. Good luck!

I love my Angler, being 16'long,and wide too,it's been the best boat I've ever had. I like carpet best, good in summer,in your bare feet, and easy to clean the dirt off, after it dries. No big problem with carpet, and it's nice for afternoon nap's too.The only down was the back ped was too far forward for me too.I think I'll move it,good idea guy's.Great boat, nice layout, with lot's of dry storage, and spots for all my extra's.
