Trolling 3 ways

I heard alot about trolling 3 ways and was wondering if its the same as pulling 3 ways with your trolling motor or is it more like big motor trolling?

3-way with lead dropper and trailing spinner/spoon/crank with elec trolling motor. 3-ways with diving crank dropper and trailing spoon with kicker.

That's how I do it--I'm curious to see other replies.
