Drove the Dodge 2500 HD with the Hemi and automatic trans.. When you start it up you are taken back to the 60s muscle cars with the throaty sound. It is a very strong pick-up with lots of torgue. I have been a GM Suburban man for 20 years but this engine might make me change to a Mopar. If you get a chance drive one you will be impressed.

Being an old Mopar Maniac in the first place, I about flipped when I saw that they brought the Hemi back!! I've got a '98 Quad Cab with a 318, and surely the gas mileage can't be that much worse..Another feather in the cap of the forward thinking Mopar Group..You know some aftermarket group will come up with a turbo for one!!!YIKES!!!

If Dodge would just make a full size quad cab...rival Ford and Chevy/GMC my wife would let me buy one... But, I was a Dodge truck man for 14 years...six trucks... Now, I have a Ford F-150 SuperCrew...And, I haven't looked back... But, If I could get a Dodge full four door and a Hemi... Well, I might just change back... That hemi is going to be a real boost to Chrysler and a great engine for us boaters with miles to travel and rigs to tow.

I have a 99 1500 quad with a 360, i get about 14 on the highway, and about 8.8 to 9.3 while pulling my 2025, if that Hemi could get 10 or maybe a little better while towing i might scrap my idea of going to a diesel...

While my Olds 88 was being fixed, the insurance company gave me a 2003 Durango SLT to drive. Back and forth to work, 8 days..$85 bucks in gas.UNFREAKIN REAL. They'd need to build new gas stations along highway 69 just so I could make it to the French River in this pig. The HEMI has to be way worse.

If you don't mind it in kind of a minty green, I know where you can get one with a sticker of 33,000.:) :)

Here's something of interest. The Dodge Hemi has about 100 hp more than the Ford yet only produces 25 more Ftlbs of Torque. The Frod had more Cab room too. And Rides better in the 3/4 ton anyhow. I have the a 98 QuadCab 360. Nice truck but sure makes me consider a Ford. Something I've not done.

The 2003 model's do have a full four Crew cab. I have ordered one and expect it any day

My dealer had one in for a "test day" trial. For fun they got the equivilant Chev and Ford trucks and had a race. Just to make it interesting the filled the bed of the Dodge up with bags of topsoil and it still kicked the a$$ of both the other trucks. I have heard some say that the 360 is gutless as well but it won hands down in a pulling contest against equaly equiped Ford and Chevys at our local fair. I still can't wait to get mine. When you spend $10,000 on gas a year who cares about a few dollars either way. When either of the other companies can boast converting as many buyers as Dodge has then I will accept criticism of Dodge.Human nature says "pick on the little guy".

But Dodge means "to avoid".

Exactly right; avoid Chev and Ford!

The salesman I rode with in the Hemi claimed with a 3:73 rear end the truck would get between 15 and 19 miles per gallon. The truck was a 2500 4 door Ram with 2 wheel drive and limited slip differential with auto trans. He let me drive the truck pretty hard which is easy to do but not necessary due to all the power.

Love them bringing the Hemi back but just can't stand the look of Dodge trucks. They are ugly.

Dodges are so ugly that both Chevy and Ford changed their body styles to emulate the Dodge after the "new" Rams came out in 1995.

You could argue this until the cows come home...it's all a matter of personal choice. Just be glad that we have a few to choose from.
