There are a few things I have found to be an undeniable truth about fishing. For example...
Fish never bite on clearance rack lures.
and
Snags will always catch your most expensive crankbait.
With all the vast amount of fishing experience here, I'm sure there are a million "Fishing Truths" that could be posted. I'd like to see some of yours just for fun. Thanks!

1 Small craft advisories are saved for the weekends.
2 Fish don't like their pictures taken. Bring the camera, ruin the trip.
3 Deer can't resist getting in front of the truck on way to the lake.

Nobody ever lost "a little one"
A sandwich in one hand and a can of pop in the other is an irresistible finesse' presentation, that ALWAYS draws a bite.
Minnows work only when I don't have any.
If you have toilet paper in the boat...you will never need it.
Nobody ever steps on an "Ugly Stick"..only on Loomis's.

If there is only one day during the week that you have any chance to go fishing, six days will be beautiful but the day you can get out it will have 20/hr winds and a drizzle not heavy enough to keep you off the water but make you question your sanity while you are out there. :'(
You can troll for HOURS without a bite, but when you unzip to take a leak.........

There's room for a hundred fishermen, but the one guy that's there is exactly in the spot you wanted.

No matter how lousy a day starts, it can end up a good to great day. Think about it: how many times have conditions seemed to be against anything good happening, but. . .if you put in your time and use good techniques you end up catching fish.

Forgetting your net will guarantee big fish will bite like there's no tomorrow.

It is an absolute truth that, on a first time trout and salmon outing on Lake Michigan, women are more coachable than men and will catch more fish than men -- regardless of previous inland lake experience.

Fishing is always great. Its the "catchin" that sometimes isn't always good.

If there is a woman aboard, she will catch the largest fish.
If there is a child aboard, they will drop something in the lake. It is usually nothing cheap.
Kids think having lunch is as much fun as fishing when things get slow.

Had that happen just a few days ago. Two poles out the side and one out the middle. I hopped up on the transom and was right in the middle of my duty when the rod wrapped around my back and started tugging. Being a man of priorities, I lost the fish, but there were no zipper accidents.

A group of fishing boats is technically a slalom courses for jet skiers.
Zebra muscles in your lake will up your catch rate.....of rocks.
The amount of water coming over your bow increases with decreasing temperatures.
The more people you have on your boat, the less fish you catch.
You can have 38 million lures and still not have what they are biting right now, and when you do get it, they are biting the one lure left on earth that you do not have.
I wish many catch and releases to you all--andy
