Hey Fishermanartur,

I can't remember, is this your first Ranger?

If you feel the vibrations when you have the motor trimmed all the way down, but not when you are trimmed up a little, welcom to the world of Ranger Boats! That is because the boat is so solid, you will feel the minimal vibrations from the motor while all the way down.

Now, that being said, if the vibrations are stronger than that, at all rpms and trim settings, call your dealer. The vibrations I speak of will not shake the consoles and electronics and such and are not violent in any way.

Good luck.......R

Hey Fishermanartur,

I was just down to my dealer today and spoke with the head mechanic, he backs up my earlier post, especially if it is only when the motor is trimmed all the way down.

If it is all the time, have it checked out.

If it were a problem, the vibration would be rpm/speed dependant, and get worse as the rpms got higher.

Enjoy the boat.......R

My optimax vibrates when fully trimmed down as well. However, it also vibrated a little during the break in but that went away. I assume the prop is new? A bent or damaged prop can cause vibrations as well. Never run far or fast on a damaged prop that is vibrating for risk of damaging the engine. It puts undue strain on the powerhead and gears. Have it checked out if it is excessive or persists. Enjoy your new boat.

Problem is that I dont have trim indicator yet(Out of storck or some thing ) so I dont know my proper trim I will be back at dealer for new Smart gauges and trim in two weeks so that will help me to position my trim propely. My dealer is 359 KM away (or apx 200mi) from me so it takes me one day to get there but he give me 15K less than dealer next door!!! His rigging is not perfect but ...I can live with that.
Do you think Tropy Plus 24 pitch is ok for this boat( as sugested by dealer)??

I don't have a trim indicator either. I glance back at the motor once in a while, but now I'm used the sound it makes when it's in the sweet spot. It's a low growl that is kind of cool. When trimming down I just listen for the trim motor to change tone when it bottoms out. I can hear and feel the vibrations also when it's at bottom. I just bump it back up a hair to take it off the stops.

As far as that prop goes it's hard to say. Each boat handles different due to load (weight) added. I would test it out before you buy. I just met a guy who has a 4 blade trophy plus 21 pitch on his yar Craft that is just like mine. He says he's getting 6-8 mph faster than mine does. I find it hard to believe, but I WILL be testing one to see. The cupped blades off more thrust and the 4th blade gives more bite when compared to a Laser style 3 blade. He just might be right.

Check those cowling latches. Sometimes they become loose and they will vibrate. Many times this has been the case.

One more thing you may want to check is that your hydraulic steering components at the engine are all tight, that the mounting bolts for the engine are tight. And you might check to make sure the engine is mounted center on the transom.

As solid as a boat that you have, it won't take much for you to feel the slightest of vibration.
