marking spiderwire/fireline

has anyone had any success marking any of the superlines so i can get an idea how deep i am pulling crawler harness. i've always heard they will not take dye or markers but just thought i'd ask

I was sitting here painting my toes and thought...hhmmmm maybe nail polish? Your buddies might get the wrong idea though, if you pulled that out..hahahahah ;-)

i actually have some bright red nail polish that i used for touching up crankbaits. maybe i should just carry it along in the tacklebox. what do think my buddy would do when i pull the polish out?
