Every Trip I go on I've done something stupid, but these two would make the top of the list!!
1.) was shore fishing off of a rock rip-rap causway with about a 70 degree slope. had about three dozen minnows in the bucket grabbed one went to put it on the hook and it slipped out of my hand and in between two rocks. me mr. cheapo, instead of just grabbing another one decided to try to retrieve this one and ended up taking a dip into pymatuning lake. Its amazing how much water columbia rain gear will fill up with when you got everything velcro tight!! fortunately the only person I think to witness this was a Truck driver driving by at the time.
2.) My dad and myself went out fishing and had a great day, both limited (6 ea) in about two hours. got home and was pulling the fish out of the livewell from outside of the boat. I put the boat back into trailer storage and went home to fillet the fish. started filleting the fish and noticed there was only 11 not 12 I thoght for sure we caught our limit but I guess when we were catching the fish as fast as we were We must have lost count somewhere along the way. Needless to say two weeks later I finally figured out where that 12th fish was! took me a month to get rid of that smell! woooo!
Another one I just remebered also. Openeing day of trout season and my nephew was out fishing me big time (5 to 1). Naturally he proceeded to rub it in and pulled his fish out and says "hey uncle rick, this is what they look like! ha ha" and then threw them back in. What he forgot to do was make sure the stringer was hooked up to the stick in the ground and eventually the 5 fish swam away with his stringer. ha ha who got the last laugh on that one!
