Does anyone out there have any experience with the Lowrance X-71 Depthfinder. I might purchase one and I am interested to know if you guys have any good or bad opinions about this depth finder. Thanks in advance.

Just ordered the X91 online from Cabela's, still $299 plus they added a free ram mount when I checked out. Can't beat a deal like that! Makes me wonder if the X91 is being discontinued for 2003. Anyone heard anything?

I have a X-71A. I don't know if it's older or newer than a X-71. It has great detail and alot of features. Mine must be 8-9 yrs' old. It has horizonal blank lines through it. Lowrance wants $100.00 to fix it and it's no longer in production. It's been so long since I contacted Lowrance they probably won't fix it at all now.

Is that an X-70A that you have?
If it is then you're right, they generally aren't fixing them but they will offer you a substantial discount on an upgrade.
I have the LMS-240 which is basically an X-91 with the GPS
I like it alot and believe it is a great unit

What is a ram mount?
it is a mounting system you can use to mount electronics or just about anything else in your boat

You're right. It was too early in the morning and I wasn't awake yet. It is a x-70A. I'll have to go to Lowrance web site and check out their definition of "substantial discount". Thanks for waking me up.
