Maybe that wasn't the exact name, but it was a 2 day program sponsored by Mankato State University campus, and featured about a dozen name fishermen (Lindners, Winkleman, others) without all the commercial hype. Counted for college credits, and was a great family program. Wife and I took 3 oldest kids and made a family weekend of it. The "professors" gave great presentations and many many fishing topics, completely without any "sponsorship messages". Only "sponsor" (other than the college) was Coast Guard Auxiliary pushing boating safety courses.

Is this still being held? I'd love to take about a half dozen of my grandkids.

Walk softly and carry a big fish.

Northland College in Ashland Wis. had a similar program 30 years ago. I was more than a weekend though. For the credits you had to attend for a semester, and besides a weekend program similar to what you discribe (open to the public), and had students do a couple of weekend field trips with fishery biologists etc. I have no idea if this is still going on.

I do believe that there is a fishing program for kids like the one you discribe. I believe I saw promos for it on Fishing the Midwest once and in the In Fisherman several years ago. Try contacting Bob Jensen on the Fishing the Midwest board here at WC or contacting the Lindners. They may have the info that you want.
