View Full Version : Whiplash with Off Shore boards?
Anyone try using Off Shore boards (with red releases) with Whiplash? I've recently filled half my reels with fireline and half with Whiplash (same 20lb test) From a non-scientific and non on-the-water test, the Whiplash pulls out of the releases much easier then Fireline due to its reduced diameter?
Anyone successfully use whiplash with these boards?

I have been doing this for almost a year. The verdict is that Whiplash stays on the clips much better than Fireline. As far as I can tell the reason is that the WPL is a braid and doesn't have the slippery texture of the FL. I use FL on all my other reels, but the WPL is going to stay on the trolling reels. The 20# WPL works very well on Dipseys with the limited time I have used them. Good Luck and let me know how your experiment works.

Thanks for the info. Will probably try them next week. Have to wait a while for St Clair to clean up--over the week end they had overflows of 2.5 million gallons of untreated sewage dumped into the lake due to heavy rains.

Isn't that wonderful? I live in Milwaukee area and we spent $3Billion (yes with a B) on a deep tunnel for our rainwater containment that was supposed to work for everything up to a 100 year flood. Well, they have dumped the sewage into the river (feeds Lake Mich) about 8-10 times for a total of over 1 billion gallons. The thing that kills me is that the environmental groups haven't said word one. But that shouldn't surprise anyone since our local nature Nazi is the mayor's wife. She gets on the news to complain every time a dog craps in the park, but let the city dump a billion gallons of crap into the lake and where is she?
PS Good Luck with the Whiplash!
