View Full Version : Bottom Line Depth Finders
The back light in my Tournament Master HR quit working this year. The unit is under 2 years old but off the 1 year warrenty. I went to get it fixed and found out that Bottom Line has a flat service fee of $150.00 US for any warrent work. This makes no sense based on the fact every repair has to be different. Anyway, just wanted to warn anyone who was thinking of a new finder - keep that in the back of your mind.

I think most of your electronics venders do the same. I had an Eagle GPS go bad and they wanted $80.00 or so, don't remeber exactly. I have heard the same about Lowrance. Usually, you get a whole new unit for that flat fee charge. I think they find it easier to replace the whole thing than try and fix it. An advantage to this is the new unit gets upgraded with all the bells and whistles.
My opinion if it means anything.

Thanks Mark - makes perfect sense - too bad if your unit is only a couple years old
In my case the unit still works fine except for the back light.

If you don't wish to send it in and really need the light try adding on a Vexilar flex light used on FL-8 units. Runs about $20.00 at Fleet Farm and you have a handy boom light on the dash if needed. Just a thought?

It stands to reason that Eagle and Lowrance are the same price. They are the same company, that is, Eagle is owned by Lowrance.
